RETAIL PROJECT - BATHIKS

As the first ever design project, we were given to redesign a retail store 'Fashion Bug' located in Colombo Sri Lanka. As a start we had to come up with a concept and then develop our designs based on that. Firstly I came up with 'evolution of Sri Lankan women'  as my concept, and for the color pallet I took Bathiks n Handlooms which were purely made in Sri Lanka. I personally like these products because they holds a very unique identity for Sri Lankans.

INTRODUCTION FOR MODEL MAKING

HI everyone!!!!!!!!, I'm Harini Dias, a 1st year interior design student from Academy of Design. I'm a person who has so much of talents which I bought from my birth. Skill to draw is one of those. That's what made me to come to this design school. I always had the passion to keep my identity in what ever I do. I think that's what makes me unique. This blog is a project which we were suppose to do for our first semester. It's consists of the seeds which influenced me in my past, current & future design project. Thank you so much for spending some time on reviewing my blog. Hope you'll like it.

This is one of our first ever assignments. We had to make a quick model using resources which we were told to bring to our class. The whole class was divided in to groups of 2-3 students in each. We were given with three words which had to be the main topic for our model. The three words which me n two of my friends got was, tourism, swim & poverty. We came up with a model.

we made an interesting base to this particular model using images which shows different emotions of people. the reason we choose to do that is a TED video which is called the "inside out project" (http://www.insideoutproject.net/en) which was done by the artist called JR (http://www.ted.com/speakers/jr.html)

following was the 1st video we got to watch
